“... so that they might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10)
We invite you to experience this fuller, more abundant life through participation in the sacraments of the Church with our faithful community.
The sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us. (CCC1131)
Through the seven sacraments we grow in our spiritual life in communion with God and the rest of the Church. These gifts Jesus left infuse life into the Church, and walk us through a journey of initiation, healing and service. (CCC1211)
Read on to learn more about the sacraments and how you can join us on this journey of faith...
The sacraments of Christian initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist—lay the foundations of every Christian life. "The sharing in the divine nature given to men through the grace of Christ bears a certain likeness to the origin, development, and nourishing of natural life. The faithful are born anew by Baptism, strengthened by the Sacrament of Confirmation, and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life. By means of these sacraments of Christian initiation, they thus receive in increasing measure the treasures of the divine life and advance toward the perfection of charity." (CCC1212)
The sacraments of healing—Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick—allow the Church to continue, through the power of the Holy Spirit, Christ’s work of healing and salvation. (CCC1421) Through these sacraments we let the God act on us to restore peace and grace in our souls and empower us to continue our faith journey.
These two sacraments, Holy Orders and Matrimony, are directed towards the salvation of others; if they contribute as well to personal salvation, it is through service to others that they do so. They confer a particular mission in the Church and serve to build up the People of God. (CCC1534).
